GOALKEEPER Anders Lindegaard is happy to be on the same side as Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, because the strike duo are tough to play against.

Barnes and Wood have proved a nightmare for Premier League defences recently, scoring seven goals between them in the last three games.

They have averaged a goal in less than every 22 minutes in the 152 minutes since coming together in the home win over Everton last month.

And Lindegaard believes much of their success lies in the different qualities they bring to the table.

"They are very different players,” said the Clarets goalkeeper when asked who is the more difficult to face in training.

“I think Barnesy is a bit more versatile. He can do more different jobs.

"Woody is a top striker. That's what he does.

"In that respect they also score different kind of goals.

"Woody scores more strikers' goals. You've seen Barnesy score some fantastic goals throughout the season.”

The former Manchester United keeper added: “A top ability that Barnsey's got is that I think he scores more in games than he does in training.

"He's very much a match player and I think he's done fantastic for us. He's been super important this season. You can always count on him and he's always going to work hard for the team.

"That's a massive quality to have for a team-mate. It must be a massive quality to have for the manager as well.”
