JOHN Coleman has recognised the role that Farrend Rawson played in the first half of Accrington Stanley's season, as he makes his return with Forest Green Rovers tomorrow.

The Derby County defender made 14 appearances for the Reds in his loan move from Pride Park, contributing to a win and clean sheet against his current club earlier in the season.

But having started the season trying to aid Stanley's promotion push, tomorrow he will be attempting to put a spanner in the works, having joined Forest Green on an 18-month contract in January.

"Faz did a job for us. He's a good player and worked hard when he came here," said Coleman.

"When you're in and out of the team when you're a loan player you've got to look after your career.

"He had a chance to make a permanent move to Forest Green who could obviously pay him a lot more money than we could.

"You have to take that into account.

"There was no animosity when he left, we wished him all the best and he thanked us for the time and effort we put into him as well.

"I think it's a two-way process. You have to be realistic enough to know that if you've got a player on loan there is a chance that he'll go and sign for somebody else."
