CHARLIE Mulgrew is expecting a tough test when Rovers make the long journey to Gillingham tomorrow.

Tony Mowbray's side travel south top of the League One table with a three point advantage over Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town.

Both have games in hand on the leaders and skipper Mulgrew knows Rovers must keep the pressure on.

He said: “Every game in this league has been hard. We’ll be ready for a tough challenge.

“Every game we’ve gone into we’ve looked to win and this one will be no different at the weekend.

"It’s a big game for us, just as the last 30-odd games have been and we’ll be ready for it."

Rovers have lost just one of their last 26 games and head to Priestfield on the back of a 3-0 win over Blackpool last time out.

Despite the result Mulgrew believes there is room for improvement.

He added: "It was a difficult first half for us against Blackpool and I don’t think we played as well as we can. We need to hope our quality comes through on top and see a game out and fortunately we won 3-0."
