We asked our Rovers fans' jury for their thoughts ahead of Sunday's big game with Wigan Athletic.

UNTIL recently many pundits said Wigan were home and dry with automatic promotion being a formality. However, nothing is ever certain in football and the Latics have shown their vulnerability lately and also have the FA Cup on their agenda.

Rovers must “grasp the nettle” and show no fear. We don’t want a “softly softly” approach nor can we have another abysmal first half display as has become the norm at Ewood Park.

The weather continues to freeze but let’s hope the team doesn’t on an important occasion.

IT appears we’re hitting form at the right time when Wigan and Shrewsbury are faltering.

The picture looks very positive with the cushioned lead we have at the top and our automatic promotion credentials now in our hands.

Wigan have benefitted from our presence in the league as we are the scalp of the division.

They may have games in hand but the distraction of the cup along with their backlog of games surely puts Rovers as firm title favourites.

BEATING Wigan would put down a huge marker for the end of season run-in, both mentally and in terms of league position.

Victory would see Rovers go nine points clear of Wigan. Even with four games in hand, it will be a big ask for the Latics to reduce that gap, as they will also have one eye on a potential FA Cup semi-final and trip to Wembley.

Rovers' momentum has returned after defeat to Plymouth, and with players returning from injury, the squad is only getting stronger, adding to the quality Mowbray is able to pick from in all areas of the pitch.

Rovers have been nowhere near their best in the last four games, but crucially, they have got the job done. More of the same will be needed on Sunday when the division's best two teams go head to head.
