Rovers have been boosted by a return to fitness of a number of senior players for the run-in.

That includes 23-year-old defender Darragh Lenihan who featured in wins over Portsmouth and Bury after six months out with an ankle injury.

Mowbray will however, continue to monitor the Irishman’s fitness, adding: “I have those chats with Darragh coming off the training ground most days, how’s his body holding up.

“He’s missed a lot of football and when the 90 minutes start stacking up Darragh will be the first to tell me he’s feeling a bit sore of stiff.

“It’s good that we’ve got players who have played a lot of football this year are on the sidelines champing at the bit to get a game.

“I’m sure Darragh will be fine. It’s not an overly demanding position physically that he’s playing, he’s playing at the back with the play in front of him.

“If I had been playing him in centre midfield then I would be having concerns of how his body is standing up but with the game all in front of him I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
