BEN Mee is confident Burnley's winless run will come to an end soon as the Clarets embark on an easier schedule in the next few weeks.

Sean Dyche's side have gone nine without a win in the Premier League, although the late equalisers that have secured points against Newcastle and Manchester City in the last week have added a gloss to that run.

Despite the slump in results the Clarets remain seventh in the Premier League thanks to the five draws during that run and of the nine games they have played all of the top four, including Manchester United home and away.

Now Burnley play four successive league games against sides 10th and below, beginning with a trip to Swansea on Saturday and they will head to South Wales in confident mood after becoming just the fourth Premier League team to stop Manchester City winning this season.

"It gives us a good boost," stand-in skipper Mee said.

"We’ve played a lot of good teams along the way. We’re playing some teams now that we may fancy a little bit more and we’ll go into these games hoping to get some good results.

"We’ve had a few lads go down with injuries, but we’ve come out the other side and are still in a good position."

Although they are nine without a win the Clarets have drawn at Old Trafford and against City in that run and Mee believes adopting a positive approach against the top six has helped Burnley pick up those impressive results.

"We don’t show teams too much respect. We don’t see these games as any different to any others," the centre back said.

"We wanted to get after them (City) and try and make things awkward for them. They’re a quality side and they played out a little bit. That’s going to happen.

"We took our chances to press them, sometimes they got out and sometimes we managed to put them under a bit of pressure.

"We didn’t want to sit back on the edge of our box and invite pressure because the quality they’ve got, they’re going to hurt you. We wanted to try and keep them in their half and press them as much we could.

"Those were our tactics - go with two boys up top and get the ball forward and try and disrupt them, not give them an easy time. They want to be on the ball and have a good amount of possession. We wanted to try and make it uncomfortable for them and I think we did that."
