Nick Pope 7
Little he could do about the goal. Tipped a similar effort over in the second half and also stood tall to deny Aguero
Phil Bardsley 6
Picked up an early injury which saw his game ended at half-time, but managed well enough with Sterling
Kevin Long 8
Now faced Kane, Lukaku and Aguero in recent weeks and again he stood up to the challenge. Held his shape well
Ben Mee 7
Had two decent first-half chances which went begging but was defensively strong when City marauded forward
Charlie Taylor 8
Vindicated Sean Dyche’s faith in recent weeks and this was another excellent display. Didn’t give Bernardo Silva anything
Aaron Lennon 8 (Man of the Match)
Handed a first start after a bright cameo against Newcastle and again he looked sharp. His pace and direct play has already offered Burnley something different. Better when moved on to the right wing in the second half and so unlucky not to cap a fine performance with a goal
Jack Cork 8
Stood up to the challenge of facing City’s three-man midfield really well and was instrumental in Burnley’s strong finish
Jeff Hendrick 8
Looked much more at home playing deeper and playing forward. Pressed well when the opportunity arose and good in possession
Johann Berg Gudmundsson 8
Took his goal really well and set Lennon’s chance up with a driving run. Worked well with Taylor down the left
Ashley Barnes 6
Helped to press City but Kompany and Otamendi handed him really well and wasn’t his usual bustling self
Sam Vokes 7
Strong in the air and held the ball up well. Gave the Clarets an out ball and battled away all afternoon
