ROVERS boss Tony Mowbray and captain Charlie Mulgrew have scooped the League One manager, and player, of the month awards for November.

Mowbray beat off competition from Graham Alexander (Scunthorpe), Kenny Jackett (Portsmouth) and Jon Whitney (Walsall) having guided Rovers to four wins from four last month.

Mulgrew claimed the player award after netting four times in four games, including a brace against Oxford, as Rovers enjoyed a perfect record of 12 points. Other nominees were Max Power (Wigan), Matt Gilks (Scunthorpe) and Wes Thomas (Oxford).

It was Mowbray’s 10th manager of the month prize having previously won it three times with Middlesbrough and twice with West Bromwich Albion in the Championship as well as three times in Scotland with Hibernian and once with Scotland.

Mulgrew became the first Rovers player to win the individual award since Jordan Rhodes in September 15.

Marcus Antonsson also made it a hat-trick of awards as he claimed the PFA fans’ player of the month after netting five times including a brace at Bury.

Rovers scored 13 goals in four league matches last month, as well as progressing in the FA Cup against Barnet. Three of their wins came on the road, against Bury, Oxford and Blackpool, and they will be looking to mark the haul of awards in tomorrow’s game at Peterborough United.
