BRADLEY Dack was pleased with Rovers’ clinical edge in front of goal as they moved back in to the top six with a comfortable win at Bury.

Dack starred for Rovers at Gigg Lane, setting up Marcus Antonsson twice and wrapping things up in the second half with a well taken goal just after the hour.

Rovers have been guilty of wasting chances so far this season but took their chances when they came their way against the Shakers to get back to winning ways.

They claimed a fifth clean sheet in eight away games, and eighth shut-out in all, with Dack adding the spark going forward that helped them to victory.

And the 23-year-old said: “I don’t think it could have gone much better.

“We were clinical which is something that we haven’t really been this season.

“It’s something we’ve been working on in training and you could see that.

“I don’t think we created a lot, they created hardly anything apart from the one in the first half where David (Raya) made a good save, so it’s always nice to win by three goals and be comfortable at the end.

“It was a case of getting the job done and then looking forward to Tuesday night.”

Dack took his tally to five goals in his last eight starts and has become a firm fixture in Tony Mowbray’s side after two early season hamstring injuries hampered his progress following his arrival at Ewood Park from Gillingham.

He got another 90 minutes under his belt against Bury and admits that he is enjoying his football since his summer switch.

He added: “There’s a lot of competition for places in this squad so you have to play well every week to keep your place.

“If you ask anyone if you’re playing in any team that’s winning your confidence is high and you feel sharp.

“You’re always going to benefit the team as a whole.”

Bury actually had the better of the opening exchanges but Rovers took control from the moment that Antonsson handed them the lead in the 12th minute.

They extended their lead eight minutes before the break with Dack’s second half strike put the result in no doubt just after the hour mark.

But keen to preserve their clean sheet Rovers put in the graft to ensure they didn’t give the hosts any late encouragement.

“It’s a tough place to come, I know they’re bottom of the league and struggling but we knew there was going to be reaction from them and we had to be up for that,” Dack said.

“I think we showed our defensive capabilities.

“There was a bit of pressure early on, but for us to score, maybe a little bit against the run of play, it settled us down and we cracked on from there and bossed the rest of the first half.

“The second half they might have had a little bit of pressure but to get the goal from the hour mark and see it out the way we did it was a job well done.”
