CRAIG Conway is expected back in full training on Monday as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The winger will miss the trip to Bury with the problem which has kept him sidelined since Rovers’ last league game with Fleetwood Town on October 31.

But boss Tony Mowbray insists the 32-year-old will be back in action soon with Rovers facing a busy period to end the year.

Corry Evans is suspended for the Gigg Lane trip, while Darragh Lenihan (ankle) and Harry Chapman (hamstring) are longer term absentees.

“Conway is the short-term injured player.  He’s on his way back, he was on the grass today and is expected back in training on Monday,” Mowbray said.

“Lenihan and Chapman are long term, but other than that we’re ok.

“Numbers wise, we will have some selection decisions to make.

“We’re looking forward to the busy period.  It’s been stop-start with the three international breaks affecting our games programme and then the FA Cup.

“It feels as if we’re still trying to gel it all together but I feel as though we will get stronger as the season goes on.

“As the continuity of the games come, hopefully we can find the right formula and make it a winning one to find some consistency of results.”
