CLARETS midfielder Jack Cork wants Burnley to rediscover their home form of last season when Newcastle United visit Turf Moor tonight.

Sean Dyche’s side were irrepressible on home soil in 2016-17, winning 10 Premier League games, but so far this term have won just once in front of their own fans.

And although they have only been beaten once at home in the league, a return of five points from four games offers room for improvement.

“It would be nice to get a good win at home,” said Cork who believes sides are now arriving in East Lancashire happy to settle for a point.

“It’s always good to win at home in the Premier League. We know none of them are easy and it’s been difficult at times against teams that play different to opposition that we’ve played away from home. We’ll be ready for it.

“We’ve shown from games that we’ve played that we can be dangerous when we’ve got the ball.

“A point is a good result for any team that comes to Turf Moor. They know that. A team that comes for a point sets up differently from a team that comes to win. It’s always different going into home games.”

Newcastle are a point ahead of Burnley in the table and unbeaten in three league games.

Former Swansea City midfielder Cork is expecting a tough test against Rafa Benitez’s side who beat Crystal Palace last time out thanks to a late Mikel Merino winner.

“They’re in good form as well,” added the 28-year-old. “They scored late on (last weekend) but it’s at our place and hopefully we can start the game right and get our heads in front early.

“I saw them against Liverpool and they look good.

“They’re an organised outfit with good individual players, good quality and it will be a tough game but it’ll be one that we’re ready for.”
