SEAN Dyche is expected to be considered by Leicester City as a possible replacement for Craig Shakespeare.

Shakespeare was axed by the Foxes on Tuesday and Burnley boss Dyche is among the early frontrunners to replace him at the King Power Stadium.

The odds on Dyche being installed by Leicester have already been cut from 16/1 to 5/1, and the Turf Moor chief is set to be considered for the position.

It is the second time in a matter of months that Dyche has been heavily linked with another Premier League job.

He was a strong contender to replace Sam Allardyce at Crystal Palace in June as the Eagles conducted a month-long search for a new boss, before appointing Dutchman Frank de Boer.

Since then Dyche has enjoyed more success with the Clarets, guiding them to seventh in the Premier League after eight games of the season, and his impressive record at Burnley could prove attractive to the Foxes.

Dyche continues to commute to Burnley from his family home in Northamptonshire, while staying in a flat in East Lancashire several nights a week, and the rolling contract he is on at Turf Moor would make any move for his services from a rival club a relatively simple one.

He is set to celebrate five years in charge at Turf Moor at the end of October.
