Nick Pope 7

Confidence boosting early claim from a corner and then two solid second half saves as Huddersfield upped their game.

Matt Lowton 6

Quiet for large part of the game but tested by van La Parra late on down his side. Rightly enraged by his dive.

James Tarkowski 6

Probably his most routine afternoon so far this season, but distribution was overly ambitious at times.

Ben Mee 7

Defended well and was aggressive in the air against Depoitre. Never really troubled.

Stephen Ward 7

Got forward well, especially first half. Cross for Wood’s headed chance was right on the money.

Scott Arfield 7

Always involved in the game either out wide or coming inside to try and make things happen.

Jack Cork 6

Not at his best and perhaps restricted by an early booking. Didn’t have his usual control in midfield.

Steven Defour 7 (Man of the Match)

The one man who really drove the Clarets forward at times. Very diligent in his defensive work as well, harrying Huddersfield’s forward runners.

Robbie Brady 6

Worked hard defensively and had his moments going forward, but could never product that moment of quality the game needed.

Jeff Hendrick 6

Still working his way back to full fitness but showed glimpses, particularly with some sharp footwork in the second half.

Chris Wood 6

Should have done better with a header from Ward’s cross in the first half, but aside from that service was limited.
