BRADLEY Dack is showing his quality in training with Tony Mowbray admitting the attacker is close to being included in the starting line-up.

Dack has been used off the bench in four of Rovers’ last five games after suffering hamstring injuries in each of his two starts for the club this season.

The workload of the 23-year-old has been stepped up in recent weeks, with 30, 45 and 60 minutes respectively in Rovers’ last three games as a substitute.

He could be included from the start for the first time since the win at Bradford City on August 19, either on the left side of midfield, or in his more natural number 10 position, as Mowbray considers changes for the visit to Shrewsbury Town.

The boss said: “He broke down twice with a hamstring injury after 60 minutes.

“It is a concern that if you start him he’s going to break down again, but it’s good for Bradley that’s he been coming off the bench.

“He’s not far away now and hopefully somewhere down the line he’s going to get 90 minutes.

“He’s here to play, to score, and to help the team win football matches.

“I see him every day in training what a talent he is and all the boys can see that and he has something a little bit extra that can help create and score goals for the football club.”

On the competition for places within his squad, Mowbray added: “There can’t be any favourites.

“They are all working against each other to try and get in the team, yet they have to be a team.

“Danny (Graham) is applying himself well, as are the players who have not featured as much as they would have wanted to, they are all training very hard.

“It’s a good group, there is no divide, and I try and be open and honest with them.

“Yet they understand that if the team is winning it’s not easy to make too many changes.

“Let’s see how the next few weeks unfold and how the team looks.”
