BEN Richards-Everton is gearing up to hand manager John Coleman a timely fitness boost.

But there are mixed fortunes in the Accrington Stanley camp after goalkeeper Max Stryjek suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The stopper, a deadline day loan signing from Sunderland, went off less than 10 minutes into his debut in the 2-1 win over Morecambe at the beginning of the month.

Richards-Everton has been sidelined with a shoulder injury sustained in the previous game at Notts County, where the Reds earned a late point.

The centre half will not be ready to be involved in tomorrow’s home game with Cheltenham, but could be back in training next week.

“Ben’s not far away, but Max has had a little bit of a setback,” said Coleman.

“He has broken down again so he’ll be staying at Sunderland for the next week or so.

“But we’re hoping Ben, certainly by the start of next week, should be making strides into training and competing for a first team place.”
