ROVERS 'keeper Jayson Leutwiler has been named in the Canada squad for their upcoming friendly with El Salvador next month.

Leutwiler will be aiming to win his fourth cap when he joins up with his national squad in October ahead of their training camp and international friendly.

The 28-year-old will meet up with the national team after Rovers' home game with Gillingham on Saturday, September 30, and miss the Checkatrade Trophy clash with Bury at Ewood Park on Tuesday, October 3.

Leutwiler will also be absent the game with Blackpool on Saturday, October 7, with the friendly with El Salvador scheduled for Sunday, October 8 in Houston.

Leutwiler earned his third cap for his country earlier this month, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Jamaica.

He is still awaiting his first Rovers appearance of the season after arriving from Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee in August.
