YOUNG Burnley striker Dan Agyei is lined up for a transfer deadline loan move to a League One club.

Fleetwood Town could take the 20-year-old should they lose sought-after front man Devante Cole, son of ex-Clarets loanee Andrew.

The former Manchester City youngster could make the step up to the Championship or move overseas, with interest from an unnamed foreign club.

Cole, 22, was left out of Fleetwood’s squad for the Checkatrade Trophy win over Leicester U21s on Tuesday night after the club received an offer.

Manager Uwe Rosler said: : “We had one official bid from a Championship side and we have had interest from a foreign club as well.

“He was supposed to be in the match-day squad but we received a bid for him and I felt it was better (to leave him out) because sometimes it is not easy to concentrate on the game. We will see if that will develop into something or not.”

Fleetwood have already done business with Burnley this season, signing Australian midfielder Aiden O’Neill on a season long loan.

Town would be favourites to land Agyei, but if Cole remains at the club a reunion with Tony Mowbray, at Blackburn Rovers, cannot be ruled out for the striker.

Mowbray took the former AFC Wimbledon front man on loan from Burnley for the first half of last season when he was manager of Coventry City.

Agyei impressed, scoring five goals in 19 games, before returning to Turf Moor where he made his Clarets debut from the bench away to Liverpool in March, and two further substitute appearances against Everton and Manchester United.

However, a possible move to Ewood Park would likely depend on a departure from Rovers, with Mowbray already having made two additions to his frontline this summer, with Dominic Samuel arriving from Reading and Marcus Antonsson on loan from Leeds United.
