ACCRINGTON boss John Coleman admitted he was disappointed to see his side exit the Carabao Cup after they lost 3-1 to Premier League outfit West Brom on Tuesday night.
The Reds were three goals down before loanee Tom Dallison struck a late consolation and Coleman felt the outcome could have been different.
He said: "I am disappointed.
"We didn't make it uncomfortable for them because we gifted them a goal after seven minutes
"There were big turning points. Jonny Edwards' miss was a sitter and they are the fine lines. We had two penalty shouts at 2-0 could have been a sending off in the second one.
"But they have got power and pace and they were good going forward.
"We had to commit men going forward in the second half and they hurt us on the break and maybe the scoreline a little flattered them. We were going for broke in the second half."
And West Brom boss Tony Pulis was pleased his side had come through the tricky trip to East Lancashire.
“It’s not an easy place to come,” the Baggies boss said.
“It’s so far removed from the Premier League experiences our players encounter every week with the ground.
“The showers couldn’t be turned on afterwards because the lights had got to go off. Brilliant, absolutely fantastic and I love all of that.
“I was brought up at the beginning of my managerial career with cold showers dripping after games.
“It won’t do this lot (Albion) any harm.”
