IT'S 25 years today since the start of the Premier League season and what better way to celebrate than watching Alan Shearer score twice on his Blackburn Rovers debut in August 1992.

Rovers began the first Premier League season away at Crystal Palace and handed a debut to Shearer who had joined in the summer from Southampton.

He immediately started repaying the British record transfer fee Kenny Dalglish had shelled out for the striker as he scored twice, with Stuart Ripley also on target.
