FANS who attended Burnley's abandoned friendly with Hannover 96 on Saturday have a week to claim a full refund on their ticket.

The Clarets' clash with the Bundesliga side at Turf Moor was called off at half-time after crowd trouble had broken out in the Hannover section late in the first half.

The club have announced that fans who attended the game have until 5pm on Monday, August 14 to claim a refund, and any money from gate receipts remaining at that point will be handed over to Burnley FC in the Community to be distributed among local charities.

Supporters who brought their ticket at the ticket office should take it back to Turf Moor and hand it in to receive their refund, taking the credit/debit card it was purchased on with them.

Supporters who purchased ticket over the phone or online should have received an email confirmation to their registered email address. Just forward that ticket confirmation email to website@burnleyfc.com, along with your full name and Clarets Number, stating in the email ‘I would like to receive a refund for the Burnley vs Hannover game’.

A club spokesman said: "Burnley Football Club again apologises to supporters for any inconvenience caused by Saturday’s game.

"However, supporter safety was paramount in the decision to halt the game and we continue to support the Police’s efforts to find those responsible for causing injury and criminal damage."
