SEAN Dyche will focus on getting more minutes into his players against Celta Vigo at Turf Moor tonight, before turning to fine tuning preparations for the visit to Chelsea against Hannover on Saturday.

Burnley finish their pre-season with a European double header this week, with the Europa League semi-finalists in town tonight before the visit of the Bundesliga side concludes the Clarets summer work.

Dyche expects to be using tonight's game against Juan Carlos Unzue's side to get more match action into the legs of his players, but he admitted the line-up to face Hannover at the weekend could provide a few clues as to the personnel that may face the champions at Stamford Bridge a week later.

"Tonight will certainly still be about minutes for some," the Clarets chief said.

"That will still be about making sure people are right and fit and well.

"By Saturday, it’s not a given that the team which starts Saturday will be the one for the beginning of the season, but it’s a sign, usually, not always, but usually a sign of roughly where we are thinking who plays in certain slots.

"But Tuesday will be different."

Celta Vigo were in action in London on Saturday as they went down 2-1 to Brentford, although it was only a second pre-season friendly of the summer for the Galicians, who move on to Germany later this week to face Bayer Leverkusen.

Celta are on familiar territory at Turf Moor, having faced the Clarets in a pre-season friendly three years ago. That fixture finished 2-2 with Lukas Jutkiewicz netting a brace, but it's a sign of the progress Burnley have made that of the 15 players involved that night only Tom Heaton, Ben Mee, Scott Arfield and Ashley Barnes remain at the club in a playing capacity.

One of this summer's new faces, Phil Bardsley, could feature again tonight having played 17 minutes against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday after completing his £750,000 move from Stoke City last week.

"The lads have worked very hard and he did that," Dyche said of the right-back.

"He came to us late and had a little knock at Stoke.

"We have to be careful with him, build him up appropriately and correctly, and he has to get used to how we work."

But Dyche is pleased with how pre-season has gone so far for his squad and he feels they are a good level of fitness as this stage of proceedings.

He is now looking to get more sharpness into their legs and he was pleased with the way his side responded to being behind against Forest on Saturday.

"I’m pleased, especially with the fitness," he said.

"They came back fit, and I think that we have added to that.

"Now it’s about sharpness, game-time, and that’s why Saturday will have been good.

"The information they took on board at half-time and why they adapted second half, I was pleased with that."
