ROVERS have confirmed the dates of their three Checkatrade Trophy group games – two of which will be played at Ewood Park.
The draw for the competition was made earlier this month, with Rovers placed in a group alongside Stoke City Under-21s, Bury and Rochdale.
Tony Mowbray’s men start their competition with a home game against the Potters Academy side on Tuesday, August 29 (7.45pm) before welcoming Bury to Ewood Park on Tuesday, October 3 (7.45pm).
Rovers round-off their group games with a trip to Rochdale on Tuesday, November 7 (7.45pm).
The top two from the group will progress, with three points awarded for a win, one for a draw, with an extra point on offer for the winner of a penalty shoot-out which will take place after any group game which ends all square.
Rovers entered last season’s competition, but as one of the 16 Academy sides. Damien Johnson’s youngsters were knocked out in the group stages after two defeats and one draw.
