THE result might not have gone Burnley's way at Selhurst Park in October 2012 but they played their part in a seven-goal thriller.
In what was Eddie Howe's final game in charge of the Clarets they produced a performance that neatly summed up his reign. Exciting in front of the opposition's goal but profligate in front of their own.
Chris McCann and Martin Paterson had fired Burnley into a two-goal lead with two strikes just before the hour mark, but Wilfried Zaha scored either side of half-time to bring the Eagles level.
Damien Delaney then put Palace ahead before Glenn Murray made it 4-2 with 15 minutes to go.
There was still time for Charlie Austin to pull one back but it wasn't to be for Burnley.
Within a week Howe had left Turf Moor to return to Bournemouth. By the end of the month Sean Dyche would be in charge, and things have gone pretty well since then.
