We asked our fans' jury: Would you start Lucas Joao and Marvin Emnes together in attack for Blackburn Rovers' away games at Brighton and Reading?

Well, should we be playing two out and out strikers in difficult and pivotal games away from home and likely to determine our season's fate?

I wonder whether their styles are too similar to complement one another but more importantly have they got the will and desire to track back and bolster a fragile and brittle defence?

I'm afraid I would be tempted to select a defensive formation and hope that we could frustrate the opposition and leave with a point whilst conceding that attack may be the best form of defence for the current Rovers team.

I would definitely start Lucas Joao and Marvin Emnes together for the first game and see how it goes. The pair appear to have a very good relationship both on and off the pitch. Against Preston the pair linked up well and could have easily put us in a more comfortable position. Joao set up Emnes to score, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Sam Gallagher is still to be forgiven for not seeing out that same game against Preston in injury time. Instead of crossing it when no one was in the box, he should have kept the ball in the corner. But it is part of his development as a young player to learn from these mistakes. Danny Graham, meanwhile, had been out injured and has not been firing of late.

If Emnes and Joao don't perform against Brighton then Gallagher and/or Graham can come in to play against Reading. With two away games against promotion chasing opposition, a change in the lineup could be key to giving Rovers the best chance in both matches.

We have some tough games ahead and it's vital that we get something out of them - and there's no reason why we can't.

Emnes and Joao may be seen by some as a luxury but in truth they both ask a lot of questions of opposition defences and are brimming with confidence.

I anticipate we won't dominate possession so we need strikers who can create something from nothing, which both Emnes and Joao can do.

There is an argument to using Joao as an impact sub, yet he proved last match that he can influence the game from the start.

Gallagher provides a different dimension and has served us well this season but before he can take his game to the next level he must learn to use his size and strength.
