There was a pocket of trouble at the Postal Order pub in Blackburn town centre but the Lancashire Telegraph understands no home fans were involved in that incident.

Police said a number of people were ejected from the stadium by stewards, including two away supporters who invaded the pitch when United scored a late winner through Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Footage has also been posted online appearing to show a Manchester United fan being attacked and verbally abused by Blackburn Rovers supporters.

The travelling supporter was set upon after Ibrahimovic put United 2-1 ahead at 75 minutes.

The man is seen being verbally berated in the footage, shot by a Blackburn fan, before being dragged off by stewards.

He appears to be hit a number of times before police stepped in.

The footage has been handed to the police who have said they are investigating.

Around 23,000 people attended the fixture, including 7,500 Manchester United fans.
