THE magic of the FA Cup came to Ewood Park yesterday as fans queued out the doors to get a photo with the famous trophy.

Rovers fans turned out in their hundreds to meet players Marvin Emnes and Connor Mahoney and be pictured alongside the silverware.

The trophy came to town ahead of Owen Coyle’s side facing Manchester United in the sixth round of the cup tomorrow afternoon.

Lifelong Rovers fan Dave Park has said the tie is helping to bring some positivity back to the club.

He said: “It’s really good. There has been so much negativity around the club recently, this a something a bit more positive.

“It’s good for the Blackburn Rovers supporters to see the cup. We’ve got seven more important games in the league coming up, but it would be good to give United a good game.”

Supporter Paul Salmon said: “I’ve had my photo taken with the Premier League and League Cup, so this one will complete the set.

“It’s nice to meet the players and come get a picture with the cup, it’s great for the kids.”

Nicola Prior, retail manager at the Rover store, said the day was a great opportunity for children to come meet their heroes and see the historic trophy.

She said: “We’ve been really busy today. Obviously with it being half term that has helped.

“There has been a lot of children come along, they will never have seen the cup before, it’s been really positive.”

Charlie Weir, marketing officer for the Emirates FA Cup said, “It’s fantastic for supporters. If they get the chance to see the trophy it will help build little FA Cup fans for the future.”

Rovers have won the FA Cup six times in their history but last lifted the trophy in 1928.
