OWEN Coyle is hoping a run of four successive home games can help Blackburn Rovers build some much needed momentum in their fight against the drop.

Rovers remain in the relegation zone after Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Ipswich Town, ending their three-game unbeaten run.

Coyle’s side are yet to make it four games unbeaten this season, but will be targeting a winnable run of fixtures at Ewood Park in their quest to move out of the bottom three.

The home run starts with Birmingham City, who are without a win in six games under Gianfranco Zola, on Saturday.

That will also take in an FA Cup fourth round tie against Blackpool on January 28, before Rovers start February with home dates against Leeds and QPR.

Having beaten league leaders Newcastle United at their headquarters last time out, Coyle said.

“We’re back at home and it gives us a chance to build that momentum once again.

“They are all winnable games and hopefully this gives us a chance to kick-on again.

“They could be huge and that’s why we were looking to go to Ipswich and get something positive from the game to take in to those.

“We wanted to keep kicking on and build momentum but we gave that up.

“I will hold my hand up and say that if someone is better than us.

“But there were two hard-working teams and we have gifted Ipswich the three points and their goals.”

Coyle is urging his team to cut out those individual errors in a bid to climb the table.

He added: “There are always mistakes in games, but the ones we made can be eradicated.

“It’s the decision making within the game and that was what ultimately cost us.

“Those goals at Ipswich weren’t down to shape or systems, they were down to individual errors and someone making the right decisions.”
