I would start Jeff Hendrick and Steven Defour in central midfield against Southampton on Saturday.

Joey Barton did well against Sunderland in the cup but I expect Sean Dyche will want to get him fitter before starting him in the Premier League.

Defour showed he can play 90 minutes but I think Dyche will continue to sub him off early, particularly now he can bring Barton on.

I think most Burnley fans would like to see Joey start on Saturday, obviously it depends on how he got through the Sunderland game.

He did look like he’d never been away and was man of the match in some newspapers albeit against a poor team who we should have beaten.

It depends on what formation Sean plays but if we had Marney, Defour & Joey in midfield, I’d be happy with that.

In normal circumstances I would have Joey Barton starting against Southampton.

However Sean Dyche's team selections at Turf Moor have resulted in one the best home records in the Premier League so if it's not broke, don't fix it.

I would go with Jeff Hendrick and Dean Marney in central midfield from the start on Saturday with the signing of Barton hopefully ensuring our midfielders play at the top of their game.
