BLACKBURN boss Owen Coyle isn’t expecting any immediate resolution to the club’s contract talks with Ben Marshall.
Marshall, whose current deal runs until next summer, has a new contract offer on the table from Rovers, but Coyle feels the 25-year-old’s representatives will now wait until January and assess the options for the right-sided player.

In the meantime, the manager has been pleased with the way Marshall has continued to focused on his football, adding: “It’s one where I think we as a club have put in a good offer.
“Ben, to his credit, has focussed on his football and done his talking on the pitch which is the important part. I think the big player in this is Ben’s representative, so the fact he hasn’t come back to us after we made the initial offer indicates they are probably going to wait until January and see what happens. If it is, then so be it.
“The bottom line is we continue to play those games. Ben has got to play to his maximum and then, come January, we will see what their situation is.”
