Rovers, who fielded a youthful side including only Ryan Nyambe and Connor Mahoney with first team experience, responded well with Lewis Mansell and Mahoney going close.

The visitors saw a penalty appeal for handball turned down before they levelled with a fine Lewis Hardcastle free kick mid way through the opening period.

Both sides struggled to create chances after the break with Nyambe going closest to a winner for Rovers as it ended honours even.
