BURNLEY have released striker Lukas Jutkiewicz on loan to Championship side Birmingham City until January.

The 27-year-old has yet to score a senior goal in 32 appearances for the Clarets, although his time at Turf Moor has been hit hard by injuries.

The Southampton-born striker arrived on a £1.5million deal from Middlesbrough in July 2014 after previous spells with clubs included Coventry, Everton and Swindon Town.

Jutkiewicz has made two substitute appearances so far this season, coming off the bench in the Premier League home matches against Swansea and Liverpool.

He also started the EFL Cup third round clash at Accrington.

But he was always behind Andre Gray and Sam Vokes in the pecking order, and with the arrival of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan for the rest of the season, Sean Dyche has decided to send him out on loan until after Christmas to get some first team football.

Gary Rowett’s Blues are currently 10th in the Championship table with two wins from their five matches so far.

Jutkiewicz’s first chance to impress for his new club will be when they visit high-flying Fulham a week on Saturday.
