BURNLEY'S transfer record is set to be broken with the signing of Republic of Ireland international Jeff Hendrick.

The Derby County winger is undergoing a medical with Clarets after a fee in the region of £10million was agreed between the two clubs.

Hendrick, 24, has been a target for Burnley boss Sean Dyche all summer and the transfer will beat the £7.5m the club paid Anderlecht for Steven Defour earlier this month.

The winger has spent his entire professional career at Pride Park and had flown in from Ireland where he is on international duty.

The signing is set to go through well before the 11pm decline, with Hendrick then rejoining his Ireland teammates for their friendly against Oman at the Aviva Stadium tonight.

Clarets had a bid of £3m turned down by the Rams last month but returned with a significantly improved offer that has been accepted.
