BLACKBURN Rovers will welcome Spanish side Girona FC to Ewood Park for a friendly on Saturday, July 30 (3pm kick-off).

The clash with the Catalan club, who missed out on promotion to La Liga last season after losing the Segunda Division play-off final to Osasuna, will be Rovers’ first and only warm-up match at home and completes their pre-season schedule.

Owen Coyle’s men will return to pre-season on training on Monday before flying to Austria for a six-day training camp from July 4-10.

And the camp will conclude with a meeting with Austrian Bundesliga outfit SV Ried at the Keine Sorgen Arena in Ried im Innkreis on Saturday, July 9 (6pm local time).

On their return to the UK Rovers will take part in a three-team tournament at Morecambe’s Globe Arena on Saturday, July 16 with hour-long games against the League Two hosts and League One Bury.

The Championship side will get the tournament under way against Bury at 1pm before facing Morecambe at 2.30pm.

Rovers will travel to League One’s Rochdale on Tuesday, July 19 (7.45pm), before making their way to League Two duo Blackpool, on Saturday, July 23 (3pm), and Mansfield Town, on Tuesday, July 26 (7.30pm).

And in the final weekend before the Championship season gets under way they will face two matches in the space of 24 hours with the home encounter against Girona being followed by a trip to Notts County on Sunday, July 31 (3pm).

Rovers, meanwhile, have been allocated 1,200 tickets in the Bay Radio Stand for the three-team tournament at Morecambe.

Tickets, which go on general sale tomorrow, cost £12 for adults, £9 for over-65s and students, and £5 for juniors aged 5-18. Up to three under-14s can enter for free with a full paying adult.
