BLACKBURN Rovers have signed Scotland Under-21 international left-back Stephen Hendrie on a season-long loan from West Ham United.
The 21-year-old becomes new Rovers boss Owen Coyle’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of striker Anthony Stokes.
Hendrie started his career at Hamilton Academical, making his debut at 16 and going on to make 117 appearances for the club, including 30 in the Scottish Premiership, before joining West Ham for £1m last summer.
In January the Glaswegian was sent on loan to League One side Southend United where he made five appearances, scoring one goal, before he returned to the Hammers, who he helped win the Under-21 Premier League Cup.
Hendrie, who has yet to make his senior West Ham debut, is the only recognised left-back in Rovers’ squad.
The club has, however, offered a new contract to Tommy Spurr.
