TOM Heaton has been confirmed as a member of England's final 23-man squad for the European Championships in France.

With only three goalkeepers named in the initial 26-man squad for the warm-up games against Turkey, Australia and Portugal, it was always likely that Heaton would make the cut along with Joe Hart and Fraser Forster.

With UEFA setting a midnight deadline for confirming final 23-man squads Roy Hodgson has decided to cut Danny Drinkwater and Andros Townsend, along with the injured Fabian Delph, from his squad.

That means both Daniel Sturridge and Marcus Rashford have made the 23.

Burnley captain Heaton made his Three Lions debut on Friday night, coming on for Forster in the 87th minute at the Stadium of Light as England beat Australia 2-1.

England face Portugal at Wembley in their final Euro 2016 warm-up fixture at Wembley on Thursday.
