BLACKBURN Rovers midfielder Corry Evans has been named in the 23-man Northern Ireland squad for Euro 2016 in France.

Michael O’Neill’s side will face Poland in their Group C opener in Nice on June 12 before taking on the Ukraine in Lyon on June 16 and reigning world champions Germany in Paris on June 21.

Evans won his 32nd international cap as Northern Ireland beat Belarus 3-0 last night in Belfast.

Rovers centre-back Shane Duffy earned his third international cap, and words of praise from manager Martin O’Neill, as the Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in Dublin.

The Republic of Ireland will name their 23-man squad for Euro 2016 following their friendly with Belarus in Cork on Tuesday.

Rovers midfielder Lee Williamson won another cap as Jamaica warmed up for their appearance at the Copa America Centenario with a shock 2-1 success over Chile in Vina del Mar.

Rovers striker Simeon Jackson, meanwhile, has been called up by Canada for their friendlies with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in Austria next month.
