BLACKBURN Rovers midfielder Lee Williamson has been named in Jamaica’s provisional squad for the historic Copa America Centenario.

The tournament is being staged outside of South America for the first time in its 100-year history.

It will take place in the United States between June 3-26 and Williamson has a chance of playing in it after being included in Reggae Boyz boss Winfried Schaefer’s initial 40-man party.

By the time the event kicks off the international latecomer should know if he has a future at Rovers.

The 33-year-old, who made his debut for Jamaica in September, is one of eight players who will be out of contract at Ewood Park in the summer.

Williamson’s last appearance for Rovers came as a substitute in the 1-1 draw at home to QPR on January 12.

But after overcoming injury he did make the bench in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest last month.

Williamson has played 81 times for Rovers, without scoring, since initially signing on loan from Portsmouth in February 2013.
