IF results go their way Burnley could clinch promotion on a Bank Holiday Monday this weekend, just as they did against Wigan two years ago.

On that occasion it was Easter Monday when the town came to a standstill. Turf Moor was packed as the Clarets ran out 2-0 victors to seal a stunning promotion to the Premier League with time to spare.

Who will ever forget the celebrations afterwards? Fans swarmed onto the Turf Moor pitch from all sides of the grounds as they celebrated with players, many of whom were lofted on shoulders and paraded as heroes.

It all felt a bit more comfortable two seasons ago. Sean Dyche's side were in the top two for most of the season and had a nice breathing gap to get themselves over the line.

It's very different this time around. Three sides are locked on 87 points and the promotion battle is likely to go to the wire.

However, should Middlesbrough fail to win at Birmingham and Brighton fail to get the better of Derby this weekend Burnley will get the chance to seal the deal with a game to go. In that scenario victory over Queens Park Rangers would spark more scenes of utter joy like we saw two years ago.

And we don't need much of an excuse to relive the footage from that victory over Wigan.
