LIKE Middlesbrough last weekend, tomorrow’s visit of Hull City is going to be a tough game for Rovers.

But like Middlesbrough last weekend, I see no reason why they cannot get at least a point if they play as well as they did at the Riverside.

But what Rovers really need is a win in the league.

It’s good that performances are improving and that they are on a little unbeaten run in the league and cup.

But they really need a win as they are still near the bottom end of the table and, while they have games in hand, they need to get away from there.

Looking at the fixtures they should have a good chance of doing that seeing as six of the next eight league games are at home.

If they can win four or five of them it would move them up the table in a big way and it would give the fans some real encouragement going into the end of the season.

But to do that Rovers are going to have to improve their home form.

Don’t get me wrong, as a supporter you want to be entertained, but first and foremost you want to see your side win, especially at home.

Rovers haven’t done that enough this season.

Not many teams used to fancy coming to Ewood Park.

But Rovers seem to have lost that little bit of fear factor now. They’ve got to get it back. They’ve got to make Ewood a place teams do not want to come to.

They can start by beating Hull tomorrow.

But as I said, it’s going to be a tough game. The Tigers have got a good squad, which has not changed too much since they were relegated, and they’ve got a good manager in Steve Bruce, who knows what it takes to get out of the Championship.

But they are beatable, just like Middlesbrough were beatable last week.

Okay Rovers didn’t get the three points they deserved but they played well and it looks like Paul Lambert is beginning to get them to play the way he wants them to play.
