SEAN Dyche was pleased with the performance of his side in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday last night, although he was disappointed with the way the Clarets conceded an equaliser.

Andre Gray’s 18th Burnley goal had given Dyche’s side a fourth minute lead at Hillsborough, but Kieran Lee equalised early in the second half.

Wednesday rarely threatened apart from that equaliser, with most of their efforts coming from distance.

“I don’t think Tom Heaton had too much to do,” said Dyche after the game.

“It was a poor goal (to concede) from our point of view. It was a knock down and a simple goal from a sort of nothing position.”

But the point maintained Burnley’s recent run of good form and backed up impressive away wins at MK Dons and Brentford as the Clarets handled a tough test at Hillsborough to further strengthen their promotion credentials.

“They’re a good side. We knew that before we came here,” added Dyche.

“It’s another point on the road. It’s hard to dominate every game.”
