ROUWEN Hennings has urged Burnley to take more of their chances, after counting the Clarets unlucky to suffer a first home defeat last weekend.
Reading’s quickfire double in the opening nine minutes made it a struggle for Burnley to hit back.
But apart from the early switch-off, Hennings feels they could have got something from the game.
And he hopes he has done enough to keep his place in the starting line-up at Rotherham tonight, after starting alongside the fit again Sam Vokes in Andre Gray’s absence.
“Everyone wants to start and I hope the things I did on Saturday will give me a chance to play the next game and start again,” said the striker, a summer signing from Karlsruher SC.
“The first ten minutes against Reading were incredible — two shots, two goals.
“In the first half we had great chances but we were a little bit unlucky.
“We made a good game but sometimes the luckier team wins.
“I think we created chances as well but the last part is for it to go into the goal.
“I think we can do it, but we have to show it and I think in the next game we will.
“I hope we play the same way but with a better result and I hope I can help the team on the pitch.”
And Hennings said he feels he can build a good partnership with Wales striker Vokes.
“He is the big man, we want to get the ball to him,” said the German. “I have to learn how he runs and when we do that we will be better.”
