IT’S a big game for Burnley this weekend at Everton and a big game for me as the team I played for for so long plays the team I have supported all my life.

I won’t be going as I don’t enjoy watching the two teams play each other but considering the situation the two teams are in I would be happy if Burnley got a result at Goodison Park tomorrow.

The three league wins in a row that Everton have achieved recently is probably enough to keep them up, although they might want another point or two to be sure.

For Burnley it’s the start of a big final six games and if they can get even a point at Everton then it will be a good result. It’s an intimidating place to go and it will be difficult for them.

They are all big games for the Clarets now but the bigger games are the ones coming up against Leicester and Hull. They are must win games.

We need to beat Leicester to put a bit more distance between us and them and stay at the head of the pack of teams looking to get out of it. And then if things stay as they are a win at Hull could move us above them and out of the relegation zone. So they are the crucial games.

Everton are pretty much safe now and there is a lot made of playing teams with nothing to play for at the end of the season. But sometimes you start playing without fear when you are in that position and the pressure is off, you have a bit more freedom to play.

The crowd at Goodison Park will want a win though and I’m sure the players will want to finish as high up as they can. But Burnley need it more and hopefully that edge will get them a result.

The Clarets do need to score goals with only one in the last six games.

They’ve missed chances that they should have buried and that needs to be worked on. They need to be more ruthless when opportunities arise.
