SEAN Dyche was left bemoaning another soft goal as Burnley slipped to defeat to Swansea at Turf Moor.

Set pieces have become the Clarets Achilles heel of late, and they conceded from a corner for the fifth time in their last four games as Garry Monk’s side secured a 1-0 win.

Jonjo Shelvey’s 64th minute corner was met by Bafetimbi Gomis and Jack Cork, who were both unmarked, before Kieran Trippier deflected the ball back towards his own goal, and Heaton failed to hold on after initially stopping the ball on the line.

Dyche admitted his side had produced a flat performance, which he put down to the fallout from last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

“I don't think there was anything between the two sides, I thought both tried to play to win, particularly us second half, I think we were on the front foot,” he said.

“There was a little bit of flatness to both sides, maybe that was the furore all week for different reasons for both sides.

“Generally the margins are tight and a real soft one, again unfortunately, we’ve got to make sure we eradicate that.

“We’ve worked on the training ground, we did ever so well with set-pieces at Chelsea, who are a big, physical side.

“It’s a tough one because there’s not a lot in that game and the margins are tight.

“We had a big chance early on and as we know goals change games, not just the scoreline but the feel of the game.

“Second half we went for it, we tried to win the game, so I can’t question the lads on that. It was a sloppy moment.

“They’d hardly been in our end of the pitch in the first 20 minutes and then they score from a soft corner.”
