CHORLEY boss Garry Flitcroft is calling for more of the same from his side in tomorrow’s Vanarama Conference North clash at home to basement boys Hyde (3pm).

The former Blackburn Rovers captain cut a delighted figure on Tuesday night after the Magpies returned to winning ways with a superb 3-0 success ver Stockport County at a packed Victory Park.

The win moved Chorley up to fourth in the standings and they are red hot favourites to follow it up with another against a struggling Tigers team currently on an eight-game winless league run.

But Flitcroft will not be underestimating their opponents.

Hyde are cut adrift at the bottom with only seven points to their name.

But one of those points came last month when they held the Magpies to an incident packed 3-3 draw at their Ewen Fields home.

Flitcroft said: “We’ve just got to keep winning games.

“Every game is tough in this league and Hyde will be coming here looking to get a result.

“But we just have to play like we did in the second half on Tuesday, like we did at Boston United on Saturday, when I thought we were fantastic, and Barrow the week before, when I thought we were great.

“If we keep producing results the lads will gain more confidence and we will climb that league table.”

Adam Roscoe’s 50th goal for the club and a double strike from Darren Stephenson fired Chorley to victory over Stockport on Tuesday.

Flitcroft said: “At half-time we said we needed to step it up in the second half – and we did that.

“We played some great stuff, scored good goals and, in fairness to our defence, which was marshalled well by Chris Doyle again, they were superb.

“It was a massive win for us and I was happy with them all.

“I told them I wanted to win our next four league games, which are all at home, but I knew Stockport would be one of the toughest as they are a good side who have been on a good run.

“But we demolished them.”

The only sour note on an otherwise night to savour for the Magpies were the injuries sustained by Roscoe and defender Tom Smyth.

With captain Andy Teague also sidelined, Flitcroft admits he is down to the bare bones at the back.

He said: “Losing Tom is a massive blow because he hardly puts a wrong and he is solid at the back for us.

“But we showed on Tuesday night we can put a defence together that is solid and has pace as well.”

Roscoe and Smyth are almost certainly ruled out of tomorrow’s Hyde encounter.

But striker James Dean will return from suspension.
