BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean has joined Yeovil Town on an initial one-month loan.

The 23-year-old was close to signing for the Glovers on loan on transfer deadline day.

But he has now linked up with Gary Johnson's side ahead of their League One clash at home to Crewe Alexandra tomorrow night.

Kean has played only once for Rovers – last month's Capital One Cup loss at home to Scunthorpe United – since losing his status as the club's number one in December.

He will remain at Huish Park until at least October 12.

Kean has been allowed to leave after Rovers boss Gary Bowyer signed Jake Steele on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough.

Steele was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 3-1 home win over Wigan Athletic – knocking Simon Eastwood off the bench – as Bowyer kept faith with Paul Robinson.
