DAVID Jones says Burnley go to Crystal Palace positive of building on their first Premier League point.

The Clarets got off the mark with a goalless draw at home to Manchester United before the international break.

Now, with almost two weeks to reflect on their testing start to life after promotion, they head to Selhurst Park on Saturday in search of their first win.

Palace are plotting for maximum points too as, like Burnley, a draw on August 28 earned them their first point of the season.

Neil Warnock celebrated his return to management with a late 3-3 draw at Newcastle United but will be keen to go one better in his first home game back in the Eagles hotseat.

But Jones admits the Clarets are out to spoil the Palace party.

“We got a lot of positives from the United game and have taken confidence from it.

“It will be a tough game because they’re at home and they’ll be looking to get their first win as well so it’s going to be very difficult but it’s a game that we need to not fear and enjoy and get the result,” said the midfielder, who twice went close to scoring against old club United in Burnley’s last game.

“It’s very early days. We’re finding our feet but we need to learn quickly, which I think we have done from the first three games, and we’ll be looking to make it count on Saturday.

“After the last result and performance we want to get going.

“It will be another tough game at Palace but we’ll be full of confidence looking to get a good result.”

Meanwhile, young defender Luke Conlan has returned to the club after being offered a one-year deal.

The Northern Ireland Under 21 international was released last summer.

But after proving his fitness following injury, Conlan has been recalled to the Turf Moor fold.

“I’m very happy to be back at the club, I know a lot of the lads from the last few years and this is where I want to be at,” said the 19-year-old, who was recruited from Northern Ireland in 2011 and was a key player in the Under 18s team which reached the FA Youth Cup semi-final the following year.

“I want to progress now with Burnley again and hopefully kick on in the next year.

“I had a few other offers from clubs who wanted me to go on trial but as soon as the opportunity came up here to get another contract it was what I wanted to do.”
