more bans than ray - brfc lxxv says
I know it's a friendly but why experiment with Cairney on the wing and King central behind JR? The one thing required playing behind a central striker is the ability to pick a pass - an attribute King simply doesn't possess. Tom Cairney on the other hand is perfect in that number 10 roll....
I hope this isn't one of GB's long term plans. King is blistering but should be made to work on his delivery from wide areas if he's to improve his game. Cairney needs to be played in a central roll, simples....
An early save from Bury keeper Jalal to keep out Evans' powerful 25-yard effort
Rovers playing 4-4-1-1, Cairney playing on the right, Conway on the left, King playing just off Rhodes up front. Jason Lowe at right back as expected.
We're underway at Gigg Lane
Rudy Gestede and Ben Marshall both missed out through illness while Chris Taylor has a dead leg, Alex Baptiste has a foot injury and Matt Kilgallon has a back problem. Still no Chris Brown involved after his knee injury.
Rovers played a behind closed doors game earlier today when a number of other players featured, including Henley, Olsson, Songo'o, O'Sullivan, Rochina, Dunn and Varney.
A familiar face in the stand tonight, Benjani is here as an interested onlooker to see old friends, he had a season with Rovers in 2010/11. Now 35, I'm told he has retired from playing after a spell in South Africa.
