INTEREST is growing in Blackburn Rovers’ Spanish striker Ruben Rochina.

Reports from Spain last night suggested that Granada are on the verge of signing the 23-year-old.

Those reports are wide of the mark with Rovers yet to receive a firm bid for Rochina.

But the former Barcelona youngster is definitely wanted by Granada as well as a number of other clubs in his homeland.

Now Rochina has to decide whether to remain at Rovers for the final year of his contract and fight for a place in boss Gary Bowyer’s starting line-up or push for a move back to La Liga.

Rochina has spent the second half of the past two seasons on loan in the Spanish top flight.

He was unable to prevent Zaragoza from suffering relegation in 2012/13 as he scored one goal in 15 games.

But his four-month stint at Rayo Vallecano last season proved more successful as he netted three times in 17 appearances to help the Madrid-based outfit stave off the drop.

Vallecano did have the option to snap Rochina up after the completion of his loan.

But they failed to come back in with an offer before the deadline set between the clubs.

Whether Rovers would allow Rochina, who signed a four-year contract following his transfer from Barcelona B in January 2011, to go out on loan again remains to be seen.

But if he was to complete a permanent move away from Ewood Park it is likely they would want a fee.

Rochina is currently training with the Rovers squad ahead of their pre-season opener at AFC Telford United on Saturday (3pm).

Bowyer is continuing in his attempts to bolster his ranks – particularly in defence – before the trip to the Conference Premier new boys.

But another player who could be on his way out of Rovers is transfer listed striker Jordan Slew.

Slew is believed to be on the radar of League One side Port Vale.

The 21-year-old, who has one year remaining on the four-year contract he signed in August 2011 following his £1.1m switch from Sheffield United, had an impressive loan spell at Ross County in the second half of last season.

But the Scottish Premiership outfit have yet to follow up their interest.

Rovers, meanwhile, have announced ticket prices for their Capital One Cup first-round tie at home to Scunthorpe United on Tuesday, August 12 (7.45pm).

Tickets go on sale on Friday and cost £15 or £12 for adults, £10 or £8 for seniors and 17 to 21-year-olds, and £1 for under 16s.

The Riverside Stand and the upper family stand in the Blackburn End will not be open for the clash.
