BURNLEY target Craig Bryson has rejected a move to the Premier League new boys to sign a new deal with Derby County.

The Clarets had triggered a clause in the goalscoring midfielder's contract to hold talks last week, with a view to making him a £750,000 signing.

Derby had tried to hold out for more money, but investigations into the terms of Bryson's agreement showed Burnley were under no obligation to make a higher offer as the sole bidders and the move was expected to go through.

But the Rams, who missed out on promotion from the Championship after losing to QPR in the play-off final, put a new contract offer to the Scotland international, which he signed this afternoon.
