BLACKBURN Rovers kick off the new Championship campaign with a home clash against relegated Cardiff City live on Sky Sports on Friday, August 8.

Rovers then face back to back away games at Blackpool, for an all-Lancashire affair, on Saturday, August 16 and another relegated side, Norwich City, on Tuesday, August 19.

Gary Bowyer’s team then entertain Bournemouth on Saturday, August 23, before heading to League One champions Wolves on Saturday, August 30.

Rovers, who finished last season unbeaten in 12 games to miss out on a play-off place by two points, complete their campaign at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday, May 2.

Over the festive period Rovers host Charlton Athletic on Saturday, December 20, make the short trip to Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day before welcoming Middlesbrough to Ewood Park on Sunday, December 28.

All fixtures are subject to change.

Excellent opening fixture to show the rest of the division that we mean business. I expected us to get Bolton on Boxing Day as they try to keep it local, where possible. The missus will love to spend Valentine's Day in a nice hotel in Cardiff, as well as doing a bit of Christmas shopping in London. Oh, and a weekend on the south coast for my birthday. Hoping to get up to Blackburn for our games against Forest, Leeds and Ipswich at the very least. I've got a good feeling about this season...

Or alternatively Cardiff easily brush aside mid-table bound Blackburn and show the rest of the Championship that in fact THEY mean business?

Just seen that the first game at home to Cardiff has been changed to the Friday night August 8th for SKY!

What a freaking rubbish decision that is, totally spoils the traditional Saturday start to the season...still I suppose it means we will be clear top with three points at the end of the night!

Strange that on the day that Burnley's Premier League fixtures have just been announced, and with the World Cup in full flow, some Dingles are still primarily concerning themselves with what's happening at Rovers.

It just goes to show that one flash-in-the pan season can not dampen a centuries old inferiority complex.

Well, your opening 7 fixtures are a tough start to say the least. Break the back of these and you will be set well for the playoff or better. Mess these up and you will have a tough season. I think you might well crack it this time.

The good news is that the first game in 2015 isn't until 10 Jan so plenty of time to contemplate the incoming transfer embargo brought on by FFP and of course an opportunity to try and get rid of a few more players.

Dewch Ar Chi Gleision!
And on a more important note, Douglas from the Lurpack averts has melted.
At least Douglas had a job before he had a complete meltdown...

It is no longer in your interest to be concerning yourself with anything to do with Blackburn Rovers, but here you are nevertheless. Pathetic.

Is that something to do with sheep love? I don't know, if it isn't horses it's something else, you lot disgust me.
Yet another (unoriginal) pejorative comment. Would it be more acceptable if I was related to said sheep?

Dewch Ar Chi Gleision!
Nice post Welshie.
If you also knew the name of said sheep, think Stevie PIdgeon would have to accept !!

Well, your opening 7 fixtures are a tough start to say the least. Break the back of these and you will be set well for the playoff or better. Mess these up and you will have a tough season. I think you might well crack it this time.

Did I just write that? Bloody hell, I'd better go and sit down.
Steady on there! Looks like you've been in the sun today, get inside and have a cooling drink before your head explodes. Finally a Dingle with a positive comment and no resort to foul language. Things are looking up. Please keep it up.

Agree, it's by no means easy but this league never is, the sides that go up really do deserve it, a long, hard but hopefully exciting season ahead.

Barnsley (who?) had a standing joke against Rotherham people .

"We used to employ a girl from Rotherham , but we sacked her for eating the soap" .

Now - regarding Burnley - I feel we should show respect for the
lads on the benches , the one who does a good job on his colouring book gets to play - and a gold star to show to mummy .
